Take a look at some behind the scenes imagery from our latest campaign, Korálli, where we have a chat with the creative director Rochelle from Roh Studios.

Tell us about Roh Studios?

Roh Studios is a single destination studio that gives brands an easier way to do photoshoots. I produce campaign photoshoots from start to finish for my clients, from concepting and creative direction, to model casting, styling, location sourcing and everything in-between. It's as easy as sending me the products and getting a beautiful series of images back a few weeks later.

What inspired you to pursue this path?

I'd been working as a full-time influencer for over 5 years when I decided to launch Roh Studios. Content creation and dreaming up fun ways to photograph products was always my favourite part of being an influencer, and the reason I started my fashion account in the first place. I wanted to do more, do bigger campaigns, more creative concepts and larger scale photoshoots, not just for the brands I personally love and use, but for brands I connect with in every space.

I knew, having worked in fashion for over a decade, and having been on so many sets, what makes a photoshoot a good one (and a dysfunctional, unproductive one). I was really excited to launch something that gave my clients an option to outsource their shoots and make them stress free!

As an influencer creating content for your own brand, how different is it now being the one behind the scenes?

Removing my personal brand from the content I'm creating has opened up my ability to create in so many different spaces. As an influencer I was restricted to producing content for brands I love and use (and that my audience would be interested in as well!). With Roh, I produce for clients in so many different spaces and in my first year of business have had the opportunity to dream up bridal campaigns, work with kids brands and produce campaigns that go beyond my personal style and taste.

That's what I absolutely love about my job now, I can produce things that embody all that my clients are, and not have to make it align with my own tastes and preferences. Removing myself from in front of the camera also means I have more space to do this during a shoot, because I'm not trying to model, direct, style and keep my hair in check all at the same time!

How were you able to incorporate the unique styling of Korálli while remaining consistent with the GATS branding?

I felt the Korálli collection slipped seamlessly into the GATS brand as it embodies all that is effortless and coastal. Shooting the entire campaign ocean-side, we leant in to the balmy, laid back style of the collection by keeping the accessories minimal, with nods to the ocean through pearls, rattan textures and glowy golden everything.

What are your favourite pieces from the Korálli collection?

The Chloe Jumpsuit was a crowd favourite on set, and will forever be one of my favourite GATS pieces! I also live in my Shell Embroidered Tee, as a coastal girl myself it's one of my favourite basics to throw on!

What’s something about your job that you think would surprise most people?

A lot of people are surprised by the early starts and long hours! I love capturing in the morning light, which means getting up well before the sun for hours of hair & makeup (especially when there's multiple models), travelling to set and setting everything up. As the producer and director I am there with the team from start to finish to ensure the rest of the team feels supported and clear of the shoot outcomes the entire way through.

I also think people would be surprised by how much ironing I do for each shoot!

Where do you see ROH Studios in the future?

I'm so proud of how far Roh Studios has come in it's first year! Producing the Korálli campaign shoot for GATS was a pinch me moment. With every shoot I hope to push myself creatively so that I can produce even bigger, more unique content for my clients. I'm also hoping to take things global in 2024, so catch me producing campaigns all over Europe later this year!
